Each players Deck must have at least one card that can act as the Commander, a legendary creature or card with the ability that allows the card to be used as a Commander. Decks may contain only cards from the chosen Commander's colour identity (coloured pips that appear on the chosen commander).
Commander Decks consist of 99 single cards, excluding basic lands and cards that specifically allow for multiple copies in a deck e.g. Relentless Rats or Seven Dwarves. Players start with 40 life rather than the usual 20.
Pre-Constructed commander decks will be available to purchase on the night for players new to the format who don't already have their own deck.
Player will be given a score card with various ways of scoring points throughout each round. Players will be split into pods of 4 players. Each round will consist of 1 game and then players will be paired with other players from the other pods. With 2-3 rounds being played depending on numbers at the event.
Players will be ranked according to over all point scored.
Near Mint condition cards show minimal or no wear from play or handling and will have an unmarked surface, crisp corners, and otherwise pristine edges outside of minimal handling. Near Mint condition cards appear 'fresh out of the pack,' with edges and surfaces virtually free from all flaws. '
